The Dome, partnered with Queen’s Crescent Community Association, in Camden has been named Playfinder’s November ‘Outstanding London Sports Venue’.
Camden’s Dome has a cutting edge shell roof that opened in November 2014 and is suitable for badminton, basketball and football. Youth clubs in the local area use the facility on the weekends and school holidays.
There are changing and shower rooms available with disabled access. In May 2015 the Dome was honoured to be selected as one of just two sites to be visited by HRH Prince Philip on a tour with London Youth to see the operation in action.
November’s grassroots award, which is determined by Playfinder users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.
Playfinder is a platform for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London. Users have the choice of over 7,000 venues across the city for 16 featured sports.
Jamie Foale, Co-Founder of Playfinder, commented: “The Dome and Queen’s Crescent Community Association do wonders for the local community and the sports facilities form a major part of their ongoing mission. Our users love the Dome and especially when the cold winter strikes.”
The Dome’s Abdul Ahmed said: “This outstanding state of the art facility is one of a kind in London, boasting six badminton courts and a six-a-side football pitch which can be used all year round.”
